Sarah Puvalowski, MA, CCC-SLP, Director and Lead Speech-Language Pathologist
Sarah received her Master of Arts from Central Michigan University. Her clinical experiences have included inpatient rehabilitation centers, community foster care homes, private practice clinics, inpatient hospital centers, and outpatient hospital clinics. She has served as the Senior Speech-Language Pathologist for the surgical department at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and helped to develop the Pediatric Aerodigestive Clinic at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Sarah was also a part time clinical educator with Wayne State University’s Pediatric Team for aversive eaters and dysphagia and part time professor for undergraduate Normal Language Acquisition and Use.
Sarah is the Director/Owner and Lead Speech-Language Pathologist of Speech Unbound. Her post graduate training has been focused on infant feeding, dysphagia, feeding aversions, motor speech disorders, and cleft palate/craniofacial differences. Additional areas of interest include inducible obstructive laryngospasm (previously known as VCD), tongue ties, normal language development, clinical education, family/caregiver involvement, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary coordination of care.
Sarah's goal for Speech Unbound is to be able to guide and support our Speech-Language Pathologists to be able to provide quality, patient centered, and evidence based intervention to families. She is passionate about having a clinic that feels like home.
Sarah is married to Matthew Goebel, and they will be welcoming home a new fur baby in September. She loves her family and anything outdoors including kayaking, gardening, boating, hiking, camping, and walking her dogs.

Megan Makin MA, CCC-SLP, Speech-Language Pathologist
Megan received her Master of Arts from Central Michigan University in Speech and Language Pathology. Professionally, she has more than 10 years of experience in sub-acute, inpatient and outpatient rehab with both pediatrics and adults. Megan has served as the lead provider of in-services to educate families and interdisciplinary teams regarding speech, language and swallowing.
Megan has continued formal training and received specialty certifications in the areas of swallowing, voice treatment, motor speech disorders, cognitive communication deficits and augmentative alternative communication (AAC).
Megan has two children in elementary school as well as two big overly friendly dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family and always tries to nurture her kids’ curiosity and enjoyment of new places and experiences. In her free time Megan is likely to be running or biking.
Megan is passionate about providing individualized care to families. She strives to be involved within her community to bring awareness of speech, language and feeding.

Jhay-lah earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Grand Valley State University and her Master of Arts in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from Michigan State University.
She has experience in preschools, elementary schools, private practice, and outpatient rehabilitation. Jhay-lah is a licensed SPEAKOUT! Provider for Parkinson’s voice therapy. She also has training in the Lindamood-Bell Phoneme Sequencing program (LiPS), a literacy-based program that supports phonological awareness skills. She has experience working with a variety of patients across different support needs. She has treated a range of speech and language disorders, including motor speech disorders, voice disorders, language disorders, stuttering, and ASD. She is also experienced in AAC, utilizing various programs to enhance communication. Her specific interests lie in motor speech disorders, fluency, and literacy. Jhay-lah values providing quality care to patients and education to their caregivers.
She brings strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills to her practice.
Outside of work, she enjoys staying active through running, weight training, and yoga. She also loves spending time with family and friends over a great meal.

Loren Mitten, MA, CF-SLP
Loren earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Oakland University and spent three years as a highly effective first grade teacher. During her time in the classroom, she discovered a passion for speech-language pathology and, when the opportunity arose, returned to school to follow that path. She went on to earn her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Wayne State University.
Loren’s clinical experience includes work in schools, outpatient clinics, in-home therapy, and telepractice. She has served clients of all ages with a wide range of diagnoses including childhood apraxia of speech, acquired apraxia of speech, speech sound disorders, stuttering, expressive and receptive language disorders, aphasia, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and individuals who use AAC.
Loren is passionate about providing neurodiversity-affirming care and empowering families through education to help them achieve their goals.
Outside of work, you're likely to find Loren spending time with friends and family, walking her dog, Grim, tackling home renovation projects, or catching the latest scary movie

Amanda Zalucki, MA, CF-SLP
Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Central Michigan University and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Wayne State University.
She has gained valuable clinical experience in pediatric and adult outpatient clinics, as well as preschool centers. She has experience supporting clients and their families across a range of communication needs, including language disorders and delays, speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, fluency disorders, dysarthria, and aphasia. Her clinical background includes working with diverse populations such as individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), Down Syndrome, and more.
She is passionate about helping individuals achieve meaningful, functional outcomes in their daily lives, fostering connections, and promoting self-advocacy.
In Amanda’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and fur baby, Cooley. Other interests and hobbies she enjoys include going on walks, rollerblading, reading, and crafting.

Kathrine Puvalowski, Administrative Assistant
Kathrine joined us after 10 years of management of large scale logistics. Kathrine obtained an associates Applied Science. With over 10 years of leadership experience she strives to take care of her team and work together towards their goals. Kathrine's experience makes her very versatile with proven organizational skills. She has excellent communication and people skills with extensive strategic planning capabilities. Kathrine offers a unique blend of leadership, vision, and knowledge.
Kathrine has a junior high age daughter and two very energetic dogs. In her free time you will find Kathrine enjoying a good DIY project. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends playing board games and card games.
